Town council for Whitstable

Local Liberal Democrats are supporting the establishment of a new town council for Whitstable.

Local Whitstable resident Guy Voizey said, "For too long, the interests of Whitstable residents have been ignored by central and local government. Last year, the city council closed the Visitor Information Centre. This year, it plans to close the city council offices. Planning decisions are taken in Canterbury. It should be up to Whitstable people to decide what happens in Whitstable. That's why I'm supporting a Town Council for Whitstable."
