Liberal Democrats from Canterbury and Whitstable have unveiled their candidate for this summer's General Election - neighbourhood campaigner and Whitstable local, Guy Voizey.
The Lib Dem campaign team have been busy making two promotional films to support Guy's push for Westminster - both of which had their first screening on Saturday at a packed rally for local supporters in Canterbury.
Financial journalist Guy, who lives in Whitstable with his wife Tina and baby son Stuart, is well known in the seaside town for his efforts to 'Keep Whitstable Different'. He has also been helping to coordinate the campaign against Council plans to build thousands of houses on farmland south of Canterbury.
Guy told a packed hall at his rally at Canterbury High on Saturday: "Canterbury and Whitstable are both wonderful places to live and to work - but our Conservative councils have undermined local people and have refused to listen to their concerns. Nationally, people are disillusioned with Labour. The Liberal Democrats can make a genuine difference by listening to local people and responding to their needs - whether its keeping Whitstable different, fighting crazy development plans, or protecting our glorious heritage in Canterbury. It's time for a new voice for Canterbury & Whitstable."
