Martin Vye - Working for Canterbury South West

"My ambition is quite simple: to make sure local residents get the best possible service from the county council. That means listening to residents and getting it sorted.
- I have pressed Highways to mend potholes, repair pavements, and clear flooded drains
- Watched closely over what schools are doing for our children, and helped parents to get the school places they want,
- Fought to get young people better youth club facilities
- Worked with the Police to combat anti-social behaviour on our streets
- Helped campaign to preserve and extend our green and open spaces, and make them places everyone can enjoy.
As a county councillor I also have a duty to oppose the ruling Tory administration when they get it wrong. And they do:
- it will take 226 years to repair all road drains on current expenditure
- Kent is 114th out of 118 local authorities in spending on young people
- £50 million of our money trapped in Iceland due to maladministration
- Millions have been spent on 'Kent TV', which no one watches
I would like to be elected again to be a strong independent voice at County Hall to attack waste and mismanagement."
