Mike Sole has been elected the new Liberal Democrat councillor in the Barham Downs By-Election. Mike, 46, an accountant from Bridge, is a well known face in the ward having lived in Kingston for 10 years and starred in the Kingsbourne Players' pantomime on this week in Barham Village Hall.

"I am delighted to be given the opportunity to represent local residents, in an area that I love and know well.", said Mike. "All too often the rural wards play second fiddle on the City Council - a Council that is fast getting a reputation for not listening to residents. That needs to change."

City Council Group Leader Alex Perkins said, "Mike has campaigned hard s in the ward such as litter, speed restrictions and recycling. He will be a strong voice for Barham Downs. In many ways the election was not just about Barham - it was also a referndum on the policies of this Conservative-run City Council."
